Sussex & Surrey Chronicle - Wednesday 03 September 1823
THE Nobility, Gentry, Visitors, and Inhabitants of Brighton, are very respectfully informed that the NEW COMET, Safety Coach, sets out every Morning, at Ten o'clock, through Cuckfield, Worth, Balcomb, Horley, and Croydon, the nearest and only direct route, avoids Reigate Hill, and saves a distance of three miles! to the George and Blue Boar, Holborn; Lamb Inn, Lamb's Conduit-street; and Price's Coach Office, Islington, London, in Six Hours !
The 'construction upon which the New Comet, safety coach, is built, renders it infinitely superior to public carriages in general, being calculated to convey all description of package, parcels, &c. BENEATH THE PASSENGERS (which materially assists in preserving its equilibrium) contrary to the usual and dangerous custom of loading on the roof.
EDWARD AUGER & Co. Proprietors.
