The Bonfire Boys had their annual supper at the Rose and Crown Inn, on Wednesday evening, mustering at Mr Burrell’s coach house to show their attire, after which they marched away in double file, bearing their banners, in the same dresses which they wore the night before, preceded by the band, also in masquerade.
Going round in front of Ockenden House they paraded up town, and arriving at headquarters between 50 and 60 of the boys and friends sat down to a first-rate spread prepared by Mr and Mrs Tester, in their usual good style, with Mr W Comber, Winchester House, in the chair, and Mr Coates vice, under whose management a most convivial evening was spent, song, toast and sentiment going round.
