Accident to the Brighton coach
John Thorogood, driver of the Brighton and London coach, and Edward Spencer, the guard, have been summoned at the Cuckfield Petty Sessions - the former for not keeping on the left side of the highway when driving through the parish of Cuckfield on the 1st of July, and the latter for assaulting John Chapman, a Brighton bicyclist, on the same day
The cases, however, were adjourned, as Thorogood was still suffering from injuries recently sustained when the Brighton coach was upset on its way to town.
