The Guardians [Cuckfield Workhouse] have decided that Mr Hall should take all the stone pounders requiring repair to his works and repair one unless the subcommittee see the result, to order the work to be completed if they are satisfied. The casuals, simply hate the stone pounding task, rather than do it, some prefer to go to prison.
