1942: Bottle tops and tree guards

Four hundred tree guards, each one six feet high and live feet in circumference was an unusual gift to a Ministry of Works scrap metal locator made by the owner of an estate near Cuckfield. while an innkeeper at Balcombe presented her with 260 dozen metal bottle tops.
