The Birch Hotel has always been a centre in Haywards Heath for dining and wining but past generations also had the opportunity to learn to swim or just splash around in the hotel's own stylish pool. The land on which it stood has since been re-developed for housing, and these photographs are some of the few links with the hotels pre-1939-1950s splendour.

Here is a view of the Birch hotel swimming pool in Haywards Heath long ago; nowadays there are homes on the site of the pool and tennis courts.
