The Silver Jubilee of Elizabeth II marked the 25th anniversary of the accession of Queen Elizabeth II on 6 February 1952. The above photos were taken by the author probably on Sunday 6th. But the Silver Jubilee Bank Holiday was on 6/7th June of 1977.

It was on 6 June that the Cuckfield Sealed Knot regiments took part in a battle below Windsor Castle, then led a spectacular procession down the Long Walk at Windsor (with yours truly at the sharp end following the police car at the front!) to the Copper Horse with the Sussex Bonfire Societies behind. The regiments, including The Queen's Lifeguards, provided the guard of honour for the Royal Family as HM Queen made her way to light the first of the bonfire of the chain that would light up across the country.

These prints were badly faded and I have tried to recover them. If you want to see them better click them and they will enlarge for you.
