Houses of Parliament c2007

The Cuckfield (Sussex) Rural District Council has decided to petition the Government to take over the management of the main roads or pay for their upkeep, in consequence of the increase in motor-car traffic. It was pointed out that the roads were now worn more in six weeks by motor cars than they used to be worn in twelve months by ordinary traffic.
