The Postmaster-General has been refused permission to erect telegraph poles along the High-street, from the Post Office to the Rose and Crown Inn, as it would spoil the appearance of the town. The Urban Council have decided to ask the Postmaster- General to case in the telephone posts in the district similar to those at Handcross and Balcombe.
