1914: A bullock in the office

A runaway bullock, which had bolted from Cuckfield, two miles away, entered an auctioneer’s office at Haywards Heath.

The office boy threw books at the animal, which jumped through a window. It was captured after a narrow escape from being cut to pieces on the railway.
