1916: Bus driver - tested for what?

A motor omnibus driver in the public service renewed his application. His financial obligations, he said, remained as before. He was medically examined last November, but did not know what he was passed for. 'They passed 150 of us in four hours', he added, ' ... so you can guess they shoved us through pretty quickly'. The application was adjourned for a fortnight, for applicant to undergo medical examination at Brighton.
