To the Editor of The Mid-Sussex Times -

Dear Sir,- I live in Cuckfield, and there is as much idle gossiping here as in Haywards Heath. If one goes to a whist drive, one is apt to be called 'a notorious gambler', and if one takes any form of enjoyment 'one is not what one should be'.

I sometimes wonder if the mischief-makers, so ready to find the mote the eyes of others, ever have time to examine their own eyes ?

May I suggest that they give them occasional eye-bath ?
