BRITISH LEGION FETE A fete held by the local branch of the British Legion In Victoria Park In aid of branch funds Included a display by Buck Ryan and his cowboys, a performance by Haywards Heath and District Scout Band under Bandmaster George Anderson and a gymnastic display by amateurs of London Clubs, and also a display of archery by Hastings Bowmen arranged by the Central Council of Physical Recreation. The schools relay races were won by the boys and girls of St. Wilfrid's (Church School) Haywards Heath. The Royal Marines, Portsmouth. won the tug-of-war and first home In a five-mile walking race and winner of the P. Knight Walking Cup was G. Pritchard (24), of Burgess Hill.
